The Feast of the Resurrection of our Saviour (Hido da-Qyomto foruqoyto) more commonly known as Easter, according to the Liturgical Calendar of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Malankara.
As Christ foretold, three days from His death He’ll be raised from the dead. By His resurrection He renewed all of creation. Easter is known as the Feast of feasts, & it is among the earliest celebrations in Christendom. One of the earliest accounts on the Easter celebration comes to us through a Syriac work, ‘Didascalia Apostolorum’.
In Malankara, from today till the Feast of the cross (Sleebo) we recite the prayers & hymns of Qymtho season each Sunday, also known as “Kymtha Namaskaram”
Qom Moran men Qabro! Mhaiminan u mawdenan d-shariroith qom.
Christ has risen from the tomb! We believe and confess that He truly has risen.
